Create a Google AccountIn preparation for our day together, please create a free Gmail or free Google Account if you do not already have one. If you prefer not to have another e-mail address, you can choose the Google Account; otherwise, I would suggest creating a Gmail account.
To create a Gmail account: Visit https://www.gmail.com Click on "Create an account" in the lower right. Follow the instructions.
To create a Google Account: Visit https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount Enter your current email address Choose a password Once you've finished registering, you'll receive a verification email. Click the link in that email to complete the verification process.
NOTE: All Gmail accounts are also Google accounts. You can also create a Google account using a different existing email, so not all Google accounts are Gmail accounts. If that's too confusing, just flip a coin and go with the result - either works fine for what we'll be doing.
----------------------------------------------------- What about student accounts? If your students are under the age of 13, you need to be mindful of creating accounts where students are giving away personal information. A couple of ways to handle this.
- Get parents involved.
- Get parental consent.
----------------------------------------------------- Tip: Associate Multiple eMails with Your Google Account - Log in to your Google Account anywhere.
- Visit https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount
- Click on "Edit" next to "Personal Information" in the left hand column
- Under "Associate email addresses with your account" type a new address next to "Add an additional email address:"
- Press "Save" and repeat for each address you want associated with the account.
